I'd love to have him, for the right price, but if it does not work out for us because he gets offered more elsewhere then more power to him. If we do sign him then he gives us great flexibility in the draft and on defense. Part of the reasoning the Saints may not value him too highly is because Mathieu, Gardner-Johnson, & PJ Williams all play a similar role of a hybrid slot CB/S that can step up and play the box as well

I’m not mad at him for trying to get as much money as he can. I’m mad at the irrational fans who are saying it’s a mistake not to sign him when he’s asking for too much money.

Underhill has made it clear that internally the team is extremely dedicated to cleaning up their cap situation moving forward. We would have to commit to some future money to secure him, so I see why they wouldn’t want to. If the price comes down though we’re all in the same page.
