Live in San Diego or New Orleans? Harbaugh was never coming to New Orleans. Honestly the saints may have a hard time hiring a good coach again for this exact reason. New Orleans is a shithole just like Baton Rouge.

He would have been a great get, but if I recall correctly he wasn’t looking to leave Michigan at that time so probably wasn’t a valid option. IMO, the only reason he actually left was his concerns about the NCAA investigations.

With that said, if we do land him in 2022 and give him a blank check for a new QB where do we go? Worst case we end up w someone other than Purdy from that class, best case we play the cheap vet route until…

There’s 32 nfl head coaching positions. Youre really dumb if youre a good coach and a team who’s shown many signs of having a lot of stability and success recently and you turn it down. LSU since you mentioned it is also one of the most sought out jobs in the country. Very dumb question.

I don’t remember coaches kicking down the door the last couple times the LSU job opened up.

He only got asked to interview at one job that year and sent out whispers he was ready to get back in the league. He was ready to take the Minny job. You think that’s much better than Nola?

SD has notoriously cheap ownership and our organization was viewed as one of the top in the league when Payton stepped down.

It has gone in the shitter now under Allen a few bad drafts under Mickey…

Go look it up. He interviewed with Minny and they were about to hire him and changed their mind at the last minute. Only team that he interviewed for that year. Getting a ship at Michigan raised his profile and made him the hot hire two years later….

He admitted he wanted back in 2022. Loomis never called to interview. Vikings were the only team.

Tells you how good a coach he was to take a crap qb like Kaep to the superbowl. That was impressive. When Harbaugh left SF, his career went into the toilet…

Did not realize that. I guess “at least the saints weren’t the only ones to drop the ball there”

Also have to think Minny going OConnell over Harbaugh was simply wanting a young innovative offensive HC from the McVay tree. So far looks like they’re not wrong here, but also too soon to tell comparing 2 1/2 years vs 1/2 year back

Jim is very Catholic. I think he would absolutely embrace living in the 2nd most Catholic city in America.
