Peyton Manning only won 1 at Indy and Saints beat him with 2 round Hall of Famer. Denver won with old Peyton and it did not cost 3 first round picks.
Watson probably will get out of the charges. I don't think he raped or assaulted anyone. If your willing it's not assault.
But, you can not mortgage you franchise in New Orleans for Watson. He is going to cost too much.

Looking at our 10 first rounders in the past 10 years, the only ones I’d classify as actually good to great are Lattimore and Ram in 2017 and Davenport in 2018, that’s it.
The next best is Project Peat, and we know how most of us feel about him. The rest are either nothing burgers and/or long since gone now after subpar results.
Mid to low first round picks are not as valuable as many think. We more commonly hit on later round guys.

Tell that to the Rams: in 2016 they gave up 2 1s 2 2s and a 3 to move up to draft Jared freaking Goff. Then traded Goff in 2021 along with 2 more firsts and a 3 for Stafford and along the way went to 2 winning 1 SB

That's what you got out of this. It's not even about charges. It's about him playing QB for a money strapped franchise.
