Yeah Hankins is 320+ lb, he’d fill a void we are missing. A step up from TD. Mata and Rankins are versatile enough

One league source called the #Jets' pursuit of Ndamukong Suh "very aggressive," and also noted that he would imagine all four teams are hoping to have a decision soon, one way or the other.

No joke we been waiting for weeks about a decision and still waiting ??

I'd rather roll with the three DTs we have than sign Hankins. I don't think he'd be an much of an improvement, if any, and will likely cost at least $6 mil per.

I mostly agree. I think we're fine at DT, especially since Cam, Hendrickson, and Okafor all have experience moving inside. Suh is just too talented to pass on, though.

One thing that gives me pause is that I'm pretty sure Payton said he envisioned Onyemata playing DE in the future. I doubt he meant RDE, which I still feel is our biggest need with Okafor being a question mark health wise, but who knows. Maybe Payton thinks that we currently have 2 starting caliber DTs and a bunch of situational guys.

ETA: And on top of that, I think the lack of moves as DE is pretty telling. JPP, Curry, and Bennett were acquired at pretty low costs. That tells me that Payton either has higher hopes at RDE than most of us do, or he has higher hopes than most here that we'll sign Suh and he wants to save some cash for upcoming FA's.

Probably an anomaly given the rest of his career, but George Johnson played really well late last season. And Muhammad obviously tore shite up in the preseason, and he was pretty raw with little college experience. Would like to see him get some play in games that matter. Hendrickson showed flashes, but he looks more like a strongside guy to spell Cam, while occasionally playing inside. I really am excited about our DL in general, even without Suh, but there are too many unknowns to be passive in FA/draft.

So I have zero sources but a friend randomly played golf with a Saints and Pels exec today and I asked him about Suh... he said that it was “looking good, and ambitious about their current offer.. but said it’s a business”

???????

Just saw a recent YT clip of Ian Rapp on Total Access, and he was asked if the range of the team offers were known.

Ian said he could only confirm that all offers are above $10 million/yr.

So at least we know the baseline now.

I know one and can tell you that it’s just a standard response to that type of question.

I imagine the decision is tomorrow. If not time to move on. There are moves to be made pre-draft and then time to focus on the draft.
