I don't care about stats, completion % in 2015, started X amount of games in 2015, playoff game blah blah blah...

The eye test tells me that Taysom can play the gotdamn game. Dude can run for 12 yards damn near every play and make it look effortless. He just makes plays. Both with his arm and legs.

I mean, think About what you've just said.

After two halfs of preseason football, against NFL backups, you're already ready to say that Taysom hill at 27 is obviously better than a 25 year old, former probowl and rookie of the year Quarterback, who himself is coming off of an impressive preseason.

Taysom Hill is still developing. Bridgewater is a solid QB (starter or backup).

I think even Taysom Hill would laugh at your comment.

You do realize Taysom has barely played against actual NFL starters and has still looked awful more than 50% of the time right? Your eye test mustve missed that fact.

He could be an interesting backup, he'll never be a starting quality QB.

If we can resign Teddy to the same deal we got Brees on initially then this team will win a Super Bowl with Teddy. Hill is a long term project. Maybe Hill is ready by 2020.

I think your eye test might have astigmatism.

The issue is that you used the eye test in a sporting world that is relying on analytics more and more everyday. The analytics tell you the Teddy is better. Loomis Payton and company have their jobs for a reason. They know what it takes to win. Teddy would be an MVP candidate if he had not gotten hurt and kept starting. He was on that track. I love watching Tay Hill as well, but his arm is very inconsistent which would not survive in the Saints offense. I would not be shocked if they moved Tay to Tight End or Fullback or another position where he can be a threat.

I'll play along.

Here's a hot take. Prior to week 17, Taysom Hill will play more snaps than Teddy Bridgewater.

Yeah Hill looks good against 3rd stringers and looks like trash against the 1s 2 weeks ago. Lol

Look, Teddy is obviously better than Taysom. But I really wish people would stop bringing up his joke of a pro bowl nod. He made it as an alternate, somehow over Brees, who was clearly better that season. He had a 14 TD 9 INT season with a passer rating under 90. That ain’t pro bowl stats.

I agree with OP that Taysom is a better back up RIGHT NOW. Bridgewater’s knee is what concerns me. It was nearly amputated for God’s sake and is reliable because of fragility.

I'm not seeing the greatness that others see in Bridgewater. I do believe stats are relevant. Teddy's QB rating/rank does support the hype. His replacement at MIN. had much better numbers than he did a year after posting dismal number with the Rams.

Not saying he doesn't have talent, but I won't be shocked if he doesn't pan out with the Saints.
