Currently getting roasted for how he's coached without Tua, with injuries, and offseason. Some people are already calling for his head.

Miami is flawed similar to us, but I can't deny he unlocked that offense (gimmicky or not) and he uses a lot of motion. If Miami is dumb enough to rid of him and we are smart enough to rid of Allen, would you be okay with him?

Postseason xo's feel like he's exposed but is it just defensively they're absolutely atrocious? Or are they too 'big play or bust' type of offense?

He hasn't done that well late in the season for the dolphins while he's been on the job. Record wise

That's never a good thing.

Their skill level players blow ours right out of the water though. I'll give him that.

And I would guess at full strength our offensive line is probably better than theirs.

Me personally I would want someone who is more old school and hard-nosed. And is it CEO type of Coach.

No thanks, his teams are soft, very overrated coach IMO

He coached in 2 games, is that enough to warrant this type of comment?

Lost first one 31-34 @ Buffalo and lost the 2nd one 26-7 @ KC (#2 defense in 2023)

Dolphins have always been my second favorite team, so I have watched a lot of McDaniel's over the years.

His offense is predicated on having a QB who can run the offense. It doesn't necessarily need an amazing QB, but a system QB. His struggles on offense late in the season and playoffs have come from Tua doing too much. When Tua is playing within the system (quick reads, getting the ball out within 1.5 seconds, throwing his playmakers into space) then he is great, but for instance in both KC games last year Tua tried to make plays and held the ball which led to turnovers.

Starting around Thanksgiving last season the Dolphins have had as many injuries as we have, especially on defense. I don't buy the soft tag because that defense was very good until everyone went down.

McDaniel is a massive upgrade over DA. Kubiak could give us the same however without maybe some of the exentricness.

Miami, Dallas, New Orleans and atlanta had the easiest schedules last year. Miami and Dallas won against the crappy teams while the Saints and falcons lost to some crappy teams. You saw what happened to both the Cowboys and Dolphins when they got into the playoffs.

That being said, the Dolphins aren’t that good of a team in the first place, so I don’t know if I’d say he is a good or bad coach. He’s better than Dennis Allen, but that’s a Mariana trench level low bar to clear.

Well shite, now I’m absolutely reconsidering my original negative opinion of McDaniel.
