Just so we're clear, are you saying we are prisoners of the moment?

Brees cannot throw another INT from here on out and the Saints can’t lose from here on out. No rest for the best. Let’s do it

Drew Brees 2009 against Dallas. Even though he should’ve been mvp They were giving it to manning and they created the narrative the “who loses first narrative”

Ok, that’s a good candidate, and yes Brees had better numbers, both were the #1 seed, so that’s not really a factor. do you have any kind of proof it was “decided” that way or is that just something you came up with? Doesn’t mean you are wrong btw. I know saying correlation does mean causation is over used on the Internet but I think that could apply here.

This year Brees being a HOF that never won, defying age, Mahomes being young (plenty of chances for him) could also be factors that are much bigger then this game. For this year

They were already leaning Manning and Brees losing first gave them the last bit to lock it in.

But Brees got the more important MVP award that year.

Even if he gets screwed over again this year, I'd be more than happy with another SB MVP to make up for it.

Exactly, and Brees will play 2 prime time games in a row, chiefs on bye...then play Steelers and panthers twice. He gives them a case, it’s his

Right, that has nothing to do with Mahomes in this game

touché but saying Mahomes is done was repeated multiple times too.

That’s the safe bet but the Rams have at Lions at Bears Eagles at Cards 49ers. Only at Chicago worries me

In this league you never know. Lions are not some pushover team. If the Rams suddenly drop 2 and the Bears win two they are now the 2 seed.

All 3 of the Bears losses are by one possession. The Rams have been on the verge of MANY losses this year and their one loss was by two possessions.

I'd rather keep battling the Rams for the one seed and not have to worry about a trip to Chicago in January.

2011. Rodgers had 20 TDS and a rating of like 125 by the bye week and he was everyone's pick for MVP. This just as Brees stumbled a bit in weeks 6 and 8. Drew spent the rest of the season quietly rewriting the NFL record book, but it was too late. The Packers kept winning and the sportswriters stood pat. Brees became the first and only qb in nfl history to lead the league in yards and td's and not be named MVP.

Yup. They never even stopped to look at Brees and reconsider in 2011. Kudos to Rodgers for taking 100 sacks and not throwing any picks to lock it up though.

Brees' career high here was 37 in 2013 when the line had gone completely to shite and Charlie Brown started the first 13 games.

Rodgers has had a 51, 50, and 46 year. He's had many 30+ sack years.

Hell his only year taking LESS than 30 while playing a full year he took 28.

He took like 22 in 6 or 7 games last year.

Some people don't want to believe it, but he will take the sack in order to not take a hit to his passer rating. I've seen it enough.
