Sure it'll go down as a "great" play for them and one of the all time biggest fails by a player in the postseason, but the Vikes losing tonight will essentially make the play obsolete now. Even Vikings fans won't care because it'll be tied to a huge letdown the next week.

So...dilly dilly.

It will be completely forgotten. It will be just like the Vernon Davis play. It will only be remembered by us.

Agree it makes the play from their perspective almost meaningless. They are getting embarrassed and I am enjoying it.

Yeah, my worst fear was the Vikings winning the super bowl and having to watch that replay over and over again all offseason...

Now, I woulndn't even really mind seeing the replay that much again. Fly eagles fly!

I'm assuming the OP means for the general NFL fan... and when discussing "great plays in NFL history"

that play will lose a lot of its luster to the general NFL fan since it will NOT lead to a Vikings run to a Super Bowl championship in their home stadium

No doubt them not going to the Super Bowl minimized that play tremendously.

Exactly. Saints fan will remember it because it sucks, but we aren't getting endless replays of it anymore.

Wish I could upvote you more than once for this post.

The sting is a little less painful with the shite show the Vikings brought to Philly tonight.

I feel beeter about the play now that the Vikings got embarrassed.

One of the worst things about the play is that the. vikings acted like it wasn’t just a fluke screw up. They actually acted like they made some spectacular play and it wasn’t just handed to them. Now it is meaningless as it just ended led to a playoff loss. We have had bad moments. I just didn’t want it to give the Vikings a super bowl.

It won't eliminate it but the play would have taken on much more significance had it propelled the Vikings to a SB win.

Tracy Porter's INT against the Vikings at the end of that game not only helped the Saints towards a SB win....he also made the pick 6 to seal the win.

Yea it will somewhat, sorry that pisses you off. I’ve got several Saints haters texting me saying Saints and Saints fans should feel better now and that fluke doesn’t mean shite anymore. Saints and Vikings fans won’t forget, everyone else, won’t give a shite
