Well seeing as we probably had about zero consecutive starts of our starting OL, it's good to have built depth there. Takes a whole team starting in the trenches.

I thought with a win tonight we move up to the 7th seed and 9ers move to 8th, but they just said on NFL network that if we win it simply flips Philly and San Fran. Is that right? Up until now all I saw was we would move into 7th with a win.

That’s because SF has played one more NFC game than us. If we win this and next week and SF wins next week, we move to 7 and they move to 8 (assuming Philly beats WFT next week).

If everyone wins out then Philly and San Fran get in by virtue of H2H tiebreaker, San Fran over Philly and Philly over Nola.
If it’s just San Fran and Nola in the tiebreaker, then Nola gets the tiebreak by virtue of strength of victory.
That Philly loss really bones us if it’s a 3 way tiebreaker.

Where are you seeing that? I’ve been playing with the playoff machine on ESPN, and if the Saints, SF, and Philly all finish 10-7, the odd team out is SF.

I just figured it out on my own. First tiebreaker is head to head games.

Via ESPN playoff machine on my phone. All finish 10-7, SF is out

Head to head doesnt work with a 3 way tie
The saints and eagles get in if all 3 finished tied

Good point, I didn’t scroll down far enough. Needed to go down to wild card. Looks like saints would be in in a 3 way tie because of common game winning pct, 2-4 for San Fran, 3-2 for Saints.
Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.

Seems strange that San Fran would have beaten Philly and Philly would have beaten us, yet we get in over San Fran but that is how the tiebreakers seem to put things.

The Saints are currently the 8th playoff seed.
The Saints need to beat the Falcons while the Rams beat the 49ers for the 7th and final playoff seed.
