The "Real Reason" the NFL gets away with screwing fans

Along with every other sports. People continue to support teams and purchase merchandise. Until fans stick together we will continue to get fricked

Truth. The problem is by supporting the Saints, you support the NFL. By not supporting the Saints, you’re hurting the few people in the NFL you care about. Shitty situation.
The best thing for everyone to do in this city that’s realistic is support and watch the good guys every week and don’t even think about watching any other games that week.
Compare that to something like the WWE where the product is centralized. People finally stopped blindly supporting a god awful product. They hit record low ratings this year and have awful attendance at live shows. They literally had to come out on RAW and admit to the fans “this shite sucks and we’re going to do things differently.”
I’m hoping the similar ratings dips in the NBA will open their eyes eventually.

Many may be stretching it when you talk about percentages of the fan base. The city needs to band together, not just the fans that are so invested they talk on the Saints message boards. It’s not the best idea or most effective, I just think that’s the most realistic you could hope for considering we know people will move on and forget about it. That’s not a difficult ask of people to sacrifice. Asking anything past that would be a non starter and not happen just imo.

The thing that has me really pissed off is the absolute disrespect of the people that pay the damn bills. Hush hush behind the scenes communication between the league and the saints front office just doesn’t cut it.
The fans are the ones that pay the bills, without fans the league is finished. The Saints fans deserve respect and honest communications. Simply ignoring that we exist isn’t acceptable.
I’m not real happy with the Saints front office either.

Last year my Comcast TV package included the NFL Network. This year they moved it a more expensive package. Needless to say I didn't bite.

Modest proposal:
Have bars advertise a Super Bowl boycott. Get a couple of Madden players and a PlayStation/Xbox. Have them play the real Superbowl, Saints vs Patriots** on the big screens, instead of the rigged Refball version. $1000 for the winner so the Patriots don't tank intentionally (since they would presumably be controlled by a Saints fan).
I would go to an event like that.

Oh Good Lord. It’s a holier than thou poster.
Hey, it’s we the fans who keep this league going. We buy the merchandise, and we show up to the games. We are the customer which means the least the league could do is call fair games.
This goes beyond just the fans getting screwed. The whole region got screwed with the money that will be lost for the next few weeks due to that f*ckery we witnessed on the field.
