#1 seed and win through the Super Bowl in '09.

Since then:
2010
Packers 10-6 wildcard
beat the 10-6 NFC East champ iggles 21-16
beat 13-3 NFC South champ dirty birds 48-21
they lost to them in the regular season
beat 11-5 NFC North champ bears 21-14
split during reg season
beat 12-4 Steelers in SB 31-25
14 guys IRed on that team too

2011
Giants 9-7 NFC East winner
beat wildcard dirty birds 24-2
beat 15-1 NFC North champ Packers 37-20
lost to them in reg season
beat 13-3 NFC West champ niners 20-17
lost to them in reg season
beat 13-3 Pats in SB 21-17

2012
Ravens 10-6 AFC North winner
beat wildcard Colts 24-9
beat 13-3 AFC West champ Broncos 38-35
lost to them in the reg season
beat 12-4 AFC East champ Pats 28-13
beat 11-4-1 niners in SB 34-31

Looked it all up just for the italics. Every one of them had to beat a team in the playoffs that they lost to in the regular season. The Packers and Giants beat two of them.

This week is THAT game for our Saints! The week after another highly probable rematch as well.

Too many similarities between us and the Packers.

I do get tired of the "we're fukked" fly by night bandwagoners. It's not so much the rant on that as it is not being able to envision a W next Saturday.

Just like when they rolled out the -2 in turnovers on the road record last night... I hear that and think "It's about time then". Too many don't just listen to the drivel of the talking heads- they devour it and suck it up like a Skip Bayless clone.

It's not impossible but the second seed would have been a much better path for the saints.

The thing is, are where we are because of the games we won and lost. No big deal. We're in the playoffs and just have to beat the next team in line. Whatever happens is all on the Saints. I feel okay about it, frankly.

Yeah, ironically, you could use the same thing with the 49ers rematching against Carolina who they lost to close.

People will blow the loss in Seattle way out of proportion. Teams have games where they go off. The Chargers were notorious for that honestly the past decade. It doesn't mean they are that much better than the team they beat.

That last Seahawks rematch reminds me a lot of the LSU game at UGA in 2004. Just everything went right for UGA that day. Do I think UGA was significantly better than LSU in all honesty at the end of the season? No.

Well, you play 9 out of 15 conference teams every year.

60% played, hitting 100% out of 4 games still gotta be more improbable than probable

I post on there during games, but try not to post 1,000,000 times/game.

It's a place to talk about the game with other fans in-game and see how others are reacting. In-game can get ridiculous though. Some people just invest way too much into these things and go off the deep end quickly.

Not sure. It was nice but they left it up for almost a week and apparently it confused a ton of people.

anyone else on the scoreboard? why it failed? reinstatement possible?

I keep looking at this history thing and keep getting encouraged more.

Look at the 3 previous years in the same Division Round of playoffs we're heading into...

2010
Packers lost in Atlanta Week 12 17-20, beat them in Division Rd 48-21 in Atlanta

2011
Week 13 Giants lose at home to Packers 35-38. Packers go 15-1 and are spanked in GB 37-20 by g-men

2012
Week 15 the Ravens are whipped by Denver at home losing 17-34. BTW the Ravens were 1-4 in their last 5 reg season games. Div Rd- they go to Denver and pull out a 38-35OT win

If ya don't get a hit of faith over that I dunno what to tell ya

one more nugget worth a thought...

The seachickens last two losses were to teams they beat earlier in the season

dayum, gotta bump cuz someone has to amen the last two post/stats as much as me.

The numbers don't make any difference once the game starts. Still, if you can't read those and realize how totally unsurprising a Saints win would be, then you might need to purchase a ticket out of bandwagon class.

yet another stat...

Since 2006, teams coming off a regular-season win of 20 or more points over a playoff opponent have only won four of the eight postseason rematches. Most notably, the 2007 New York Giants rebounded from a 22-point loss to Green Bay in the regular season, to beat the Packers for the NFC Championship.
