The NFL requires a controlling owner to hold at minimum a 30% stake in the team and forbids ownership groups of over 24 people; one team, the Green Bay Packers, is exempt from this under a grandfather clause and is owned by shareholders. The rules were relaxed this offseason to allow private equity firms to buy a stake in teams. They have to own at least 3% but can own no more than 10% of the team.

The saints/gayle havent done anything, but stupidly help the dioceses with communication. no one has claimed that the saints actually did anything other than that.

Not weird.
The Saints/Gayle were stupidly helping a friend in the catholic church (archbishop). They absolutely should not have gotten involved. I don't, for a minute, think they were trying to help cover up pedos. That's what I have a problem about.
The church is a huge organization. No church admin officials have been charged with any cover up. I believe that any cover up was more mid level and local, not in the diocese office... I am not saying it didn't happen. There is just nothing saying it did. Anyone involved in a cover up should go to jail and be beaten to death there.
With that said, Gayle and Greg Bensel (saints communications) tried to help their friend with communication on an unbelievably awful situation.
All the statements about Saints and the Church seem to gloss over the above facts. They use language that is more click bait "Saints help Church cover up pedos". That is not what happened.

Not weird once you realize their self-esteem is dependent on having the Saints in NOLA. Any threat to Gayle or the city regardless of the charge (in this case pressuring local media to turn a blind eye or provide favorable coverage to pedo priests) must be squashed.
