Absolutely right. The Saints are fine. They are banged up, and truth be told, it is fortunate that the next few games look very winnable against weak opponents. Keep in mind, Bush will be back, as will Sharper. What about Clint Ingram, could he perhaps help at OLB? The Saints have depth on the O-line -- wouldn't mind seeing the two rooks get some PT (Tennant and Brown). The key is keeping Drew healthy and winning the games we should win, which is most of them. Tough schedule down the stretch and 11-5 might be the final outcome; not sure if that would be good enough for home field throughout the playoffs.

Why? You are taking what I've said entirely the wrong way if you think I'm saying the team is bad, they just aren't playing well and yes injuries are a part of that.

I kinda came off that way but nahh, i wasn't insinuating that you said the team was bad. just meant to say that by mid season, i think we will be playing really good football. what say you?

Not me. BCS has soured my college interest even though I follow the SEC, but thats it.

Can't beat the NFL.

I'm thinking more and more that if the Saints do anything this year, it will be a miracle. The amount of injuries, and new ones each week, is staggering. 19 of 53 on the roster banged up in some form? Impossible.

I'm hopeful the Saints will get the wounded back on the field and get stronger, but there seems to be a dark injury cloud hanging over them this year.

the 19 injured report was really over the top. Payton is notorious for NOT being forthcoming with injury info. Brees has his knee braced up and did not appear on the injury report. Rumor is, someone, prolly the league came down on him. So in response he listed every little ding on the roster.

At the presser-

Are the additions to the injury report nicks that came up in the game on Sunday?

“We’re just trying to be more thorough on this list.”

When he answered that, there was a roar of laughter from the reporters, as if everyone knew what happened.

I guess I'm just starting to worry. It seems like more injuries earlier this year than last. Wipe out the running corps and the secondary, and replace them with camp bodies, that makes me nervous.

I'm concerned but wouldn't say worried. This is the softest 3 game stretch in the schedule. We'll have Reggie & PT back. Then we might have 2 strong proven backups. Betts has been very solid in the past and only recovery from the knee job is why he wasn't in demand. He could end up being a real steal.

For DBs, we went through stretches last year without Porter and Greer, some at the same time! The NE game with McKenzie & McAlister comes to mind. Good news is Porter will be back. Harper could be back this week. And we have Sharper and Ingram to return too. Jenkins has looked good enough that I don't think Sharper automatically displaces him. They might both be on the back end in some alignments. I haven't been the biggest Usama fan but last week might have been the best I've ever seen him at a position he hasn't played before.

OK, you convinced me. I won't be worried.

As long as you can assure me there won't be further casualties.

one more...

Who was the most popular NFC preseason pick? Green Bay I'd say. They've been hit by more and more sever injuries. Take a read HERE from their official site and you might feel better.

Injuries are prolly the biggest reason I'd oppose a 18 game season. It might more often end up who happens to have the most players still standing as champs rather than who is the best.

True. Saints did get their injured back for the playoff run. I'm just concerned that they got injured TOO EARLY this season, and they'll come back and be re-injured and miss the playoffs.

Again, probably just worrying needlessly. It seems like there are plenty of high-profile injuries around the league early this year.

Was thinking the same Blu. I pray it's just leverage for CBA talks.

The offense has fallen off massively. Last year's offense in no way mirrors this years through five games. We played plenty close games, but in how many was the offense held to under 20?

BTW, telling us that we played inexperienced QBs in some blowouts doesn't account for us scoring 40+ points. Unless you think those QBs were going to stop us from scoring.
