The Carr-Garoppolo connection.

With Carr singing here from LV and Garoppolo (who many here wanted) signing in LV does that sort of tie those two together for the foreseeable future as far as Saints fans are concerned?
Personally I don't see Garoppolo having much long term success in the dysfunction that is the Raiders org but I know a lot of Saints fans will be comparing the twos progress from here on.

Jimmy G making about 12 million less a year is also a factor.

Every team he's gone to has made the Super Bowl.

It shouldn't because there have not been nay reports tying Jimmy G to the Saints. What's interesting is there is a faction of posters that will tell you Winston is garbage and a shitty QB that no one wanted as evident by the lack of interested teams when he was a FA. They ignore Pitt offering him a deal in 2020 and Indy made some calls in 2021. However, I bet they will be on here shouting from the rooftops anytime Jimmy G has a good game; yet no one was interested except for his old coach.

Jimmy counts more against the cap this year
Year 1: JG: $16.3M, DC: $7.2M
Year 2: JG: $28M, DC: $35.7M
Year 3: JG: $28M, DC: $45.7M
Year 4: JG: $0, DC: $11.4M dead money (both will need new deals by year 4 unless Saints are willing to take on the $56M cap in 2026)

Every team he’s gone to has made the Super Bowl despite him, not because of him.
Now tell me how many times Jimmy G has played a full season.

That's a huge factor.
If it were me, I'd prefer Garoppolo and his contract. Easy decision, too.
