Guys like drew lock and Kyle Trask carved SEC defenses too. Numbers are great but the position is way more nuanced than that, especially when you’re talking about a 25 year old in a gimmicky system

If you like older QBs, put on Jaren hall BYU.

Every QB is a "system guy". Look at Joe in his junior year at LSU vs senior. And again in the Bengals first 4 games vs once they gave him more freedom.

Any QB is better when you have a good system for them. What's your point?

Comparing a Heisman favorite all season to these two guys?

He was a better QB all year than all four of the ones at the heisman ceremony.

You're not seriously telling me Weeden was better than Hooker in college

Exactly. But everyone on this board would prefer to watch us trade picks for Trey Lance or Carr.

Trask was a heisman finalist and wasn’t 25

Both names are at the top of the SEC career and single season passing record books

Look at his season before his 5th year . And playing in the best conference in the country. Everyone loves this excuse but doesn't want to talk about how Burrow didn't breakout until his last either. I'm not saying hes as good as Joe, just a point.

Look forward to it. I'll "bump" these threads when hes tearing it up on another team in the league too.

NONE? He has several of the same qualities and better size for the NFL. Awful take

You think Will Levis or Anthony Richardson looked better this year? What a joke.

Same. Think one of the two will be there in the 2nd. If MT is gone, which I’m 99.9% sure he is, I’d look hard at getting a receiver in the 2nd. Tillman fits that MT role better than Hyatt. Would love to get him.

what a dumb take..Josh Heupel runs a wide open system. His qb's at UCF lit it up with the same system. No one was talking hooker up as a first rounder when he was at Va tech. And despite his injury, he'll be drafted, but not as high as you think he will be

No, no, no my guy. Hooker did NOTHING before his 5th year. This was his SIXTH year of college ball. You need to check your boy's resume again.

He came in 4th in voting in quite possibly the most boring year for heisman finalists. Not the same

It's a very valid take...if that is your stance that it is all Heupel's system then all of his other QB's should have put up the same numbers every year but weren't close.

Did anyone talk about Joe as a first rounder going into the last season? You're continuing to prove my point for me.

He was the same QB that he was in the last two seasons, with a better coaching staff and a better team around him "my guy". He developed under Huepel
