Yeah it would probably be 2 firsts and two thirds or something. Worth it imo if Moore thinks Ward is his guy. You go for the QB you want. There’s plenty of other draft picks we have to rebuild the roster.

They had the worst record in the league. Of course they would be “better.”

I don’t think they care about a couple of more wins for 2-3 years. If Tennessee traded the number one pick for Derek Carr and number 9 their fans would burn down the stadium. Not a single GM in the nfl would make that trade.

tennessee has failed at drafting the next franchise qb a few times in a row.

I wouldn't trade up for any QB in this draft.

Aww..not. I like Cam but we can wait until next year to get our QB, concentrate on the ancillary pieces.

Yes to all of this UNLESS it's your QB of the future. That's the one position in which all restrictions are off.

With that said, you don't do stupid trades that would put him in a position to fail and set the organization back a few years (ughem DITKA!)

Yeah, pretty stupid when you consider the Saints as a whole are in complete rebuild mode and need as many draft picks as possible on cheap contracts to do so.

There isn't anyone in this draft who's deserving to move up and trade for QB wise. It's a very mediocre class. You're not getting a Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels in the 1st round from this QB class.

Which you may not be in any position to get. 9 is a spot that gives you an opportunity for this trade. You do it when you know you can rather than when you hope you may be able to in the future.

a starting qb on a rookie salary instantly fixes whatever cap woes you think we have to need cap space to fix whatever roster holes you think we have.

We already know what it would look like. Carolina moved from 9 to 1 just a few years ago and they gave up more than that

Carolina gave up the following to move from 9 to 1

DJ Moore (who had made the probowl as a WR

1, 2

1, 2

So more than you guys are saying.

And trade away all your draft capital when practically every position on this team needs starters and depth? I don't think so. You only do that when you're absolutely certain you're getting a franchise QB. Nobody really stands out in this class.

So you keep taking cracks at it. You don’t trade for a 34 year old Derek Carr to hopefully win 7-8 games in a year or two before he REALLY declines.

As we get closer to the draft the players that seemed out of our reach are going to be there when we draft and visa versa... Remember Mahomes a few+ weeks before the draft had him in the 3rd in some mocks...

Like I said I could see Dart being taken by the Raiders in the first and that would be a reach.. Some draft simulations had Ward going deep into the second round.. but now have going high in the first... As usual things will settle down about a week before the draft...

This board says this same thing every year except for when it's an LSU QB. Meanwhile we are watching these so called bad QBs shine.

Nobody can ever be certain. But yes, if everything lines up that the player meets all the qualifications to say his chances of being this are very high, then you do it. Saints may not think Ward is that player, but if they do then they need to go grab him while (if) they can.

Not a QB I ever anticipated or even wanted… but having a guy say that makes me value him more than before. It would be a ridiculously high and stupid trade up, so no.

Nevertheless, I like guys who want to be here in all sports and at all levels.

More importantly, it’s a new fresh era. I’ll trust Kellen Moore’s opinion. He has the keys now.
