And should be our back-up QB. His passing, Running, and decision making showed me last night that he would give us a chance if God forbid, Drew went down. Time to move on from journeyman backups.

Bet you weren't saying the same thing last week...

Was he going against any of the chargers starters? I can't remember, I was pretty lit by that point. I just remember their 1st team looking pretty nasty on our opening drive

Frankly I said nothing last week. The two interceptions were not troubling to me, and the fumbles were correctable. I think he is ready for the back up role.

Naw. He was in with the second stringers. To me, he adds a domination that we have never had, and his passing and decision making last night were perfect.

He'd be a good situational player on 4th downs this season. That run pass option is very hard to defend against considering how fast he is. Defenses will most likely honor it, he just has to make the throw. I bet CSP already has a couple of plays in his back pocket for subbing in Hill in those situations

He makes the team.
He is not the answer at QB.

After last night, I think I see the vision Payton has for him. It wouldn't surprise me if the Saints keep him for the duration of Brees' stay, to be honest.

I think Payton's about to create a new specialist; short-yardage QB. The concept has been tossed around before, but with the new rules, and Hill's ability, I can see Payton committing to it. Remember, for 2 pt conversions, 50% gets you the same pts as 100% for kicks. You do a run-pass read-option with Hill out of 3-wide like he did, with Thomas and Smith as 2 of those WRs, and Hill's a nightmare.

Fluke ball control errors. Very correctable

Assuming you meant dimension?

I meant dimension. Correct. The NFL is riddled with dead-end journeymen back-ups. When Hill is in the game, there is an excitment about what may happen with pass or run and the possibilities with blazing (and I mean blazing) speed on every play. I don’t know if he is the long term replacement for Breeze, but he might be if his passing and poise continue to improve like I saw last night.

I agree with you 100% Geauxst. Hill gives the Saints a spark on third and fourth and short. He makes good decisions, and tough as nails.

I mean I love the guy but Vick was probably the most gifted athlete ever to play qb ( from a mobility standpoint). Let’s ease on the hyperbole just a shade.

If Taysom starts, teams will adjust. He is not close to the answer. Tayson doesn't run a 4.42 forty which is a faster time than AK.

I like Taysom, but he’s far from being another Vick

I think with one more year of development, he will be a legit option to take the job once Drew retires. Not going to reach and say he's the guy for the job, but I think he will definitely improve enough to where he's deserving of a shot. Right now we would be screwed if he had to start a regular season game.

I'm a little encouraged because it seems like he's mentally tough. He played like dog shite last week but he put that behind him, probably took in a lot of constructive criticism from coaches, and he fixed it.

I think some people don't remember that from 2002-2005 Vick was as dominant a dual threat football had ever seen.

Hill may be fun to watch when he takes off running and in that one way they have a similarity

However in all skill sets directly related to QB'ing Vick is vastly superior. Vick was a criminally underrated QB not just an under center athlete.

What does he run? Why AK? He doesn't play QB.

It works. Taysom Hill is synonymous with domination.
