He cost us Marcus Williams with his insane salary

...so yeah.

I thought his salary only jumped up if he met certain playing time marks? Did he pass those goals?

It's a four-year, $40 million contract that has a new-money average per year of $10 million, with $11.1 million fully guaranteed at signing and $21 million guaranteed by year two. It also has an upside potential of a whopping $55 million, which is where it gets interesting.

The jump to 55mil is mainly the qb stuff and nfc off. player of the year.

With that same criteria, he gets $1 million for a Super Bowl appearance and $1.5 million for a Super Bowl win.
Finally, there are escalators for rushing yards. He gets $250,000 for six touchdowns, 8 TDs and 10 TDs. He also gets $500,000 for 600 rushing yards and another $500,000 for a Pro Bowl.
In all, the contract can be worth $95 million.

My problem with Taysom is when he was given the opportunity to take over and he could not protect the ball well. During the 2020 season from week 10 to week 14 Taysom fumbled the ball a total of 8x, 4 of which were recovered by the opponent. All of the good stuff he did is clouded by the fumbles in my mind.

On WWL the other day Deuce was saying that while he is listened as a TE that Taysom’s role was not changing. He play the jack of all trades role and even take a occasional snap at QB.

Nobody in the NFL wants him to play QB, unless he’s holding out for Payton’s next job. He should pretend to be enthusiastic about playing TE, or he’s out of the league after his contract is up.

Couldn't have said it better. I'm so tired of hearing about his "wants" I wish the reporters would stop egging him on about being a QB. Then again he could just not answer the question and accept it internally that he isn't a QB.

Hill proved to be a backup quality QB. Now everyone who said he shouldn’t be starting QB hates him

The reality is, everyone who said he wasn’t a good QB wanted him moving all around the offense, bc it’s actually what impacts winning for us

Never is a joke to debate if a player is worth the money vs touches Sir Chadwick.

He will he 36 when his contact ends. Odds are against given his concussion/injury history coupled with the given decline of athleticism as one ages

Again. His body does not hold up. One of his victories was due to our defense shutting out Tom Brady. Win percentage argument is hilarious to me. Jimmy G won a lot as the starter but no one is breaking the bank for him.

Taysoms gift is also his curse. Even though he can't process and read coverages like an elite qb, he can make the play still work with his athleticism. It's why he's been injured for 3 seasons straight now.

Yeah, and when he fumbles it behind center you'll pull up some obscure jameis int stat from 3 years ago.
