Likelihood of getting another team to commit to the idea in defiance of the league office would be slim...

But what if we reached out to the Chiefs and asked to play an exhibition game the same day as the Super Bowl and have local networks pick up the game?

That would be fun but the NFL wouldn't sanction it so they wouldn't be able to wear their uniforms, or use any NFL assets in any way, at the very least. Also I doubt any of the players would want to risk injury to make a point.

I’ve thought about this and would love it. It would be a great game and that winner would be a much more legitimate champion.

If a national broadcaster like ABC picked it up for say 50 million and the players got to split the money....

Sure... that might work. they'd probably still have to wear non-NFL uniforms though. Which I guess is fine.

I'm sure there'd be no consequences for embarrassing Goodell like that.

I saw people were sharing this idea on Facebook. I had no idea you were an overweight mother of three from Kenner, OP.

This would be 10x worse than UCF claiming to be national champions

The players wouldn’t play for free and the Chiefs didn’t get fckd over. The Chiefs just got beat because the Pats were getting flagged big time on what should have been the Chiefs game winning drive.

This is dumber than wanting to have a parade that day. Besides the logistics, the NFLPA would prohibit it, and every player has a clause in their contract about "risky conduct." No one is voiding their contract and risking injury to play a meaningless, unsanctioned game.

Guys, there is no recourse. Just need to accept it.

The Saints will not be playing in another meaningful game this year. It’s over.

We should throw the largest tsilgate party ever and then go into the dome and watch the replay of the super bowl we won. Players should participate.

frick the NFL.
