Unless they think he is better than one of PT/Bush/Bell/Hamilton, which he sure as shite isn't, they would have to deactivate a special teamer to even get him on the active roster. Not worth it, even though it brought a smile to my face.

Probably similar to keeping Carney on as a kicking consultant in that Payton felt bad about the way the relationship ended before. It also pleases the fans and is the type of gesture that makes you a "player's coach". Good PR all around. If we're near full strength starter wise then we probably have the roster space to accommodate something like this.
