Harbaugh all day. I've been saying it for 2 years now. The guy is a proven winner. His teams are hard-nosed and gritty. And no one else would like him. That's the kind of coach we need. He can reshape our roster on the offensive side to his style with just a few moves. Penning going inside to guard is step one.

There is some youth on the defensive side of the ball that can be built on. You select a guy like Verse in the first round to be the anchor going forward. We went young and innovative when we hired Payton but if he would have paid more attention to the defensive side of the ball then we would not have wasted a ton of Drew's prime.

Harbaugh is at least going to focus on both sides. He's a true HC and not a coordinator in the role. Throw all the money at him and watch what this man can do.

I like Harbaugh he’s as good coach a bit of a snowflake but he knows how to coach I think he would do a fantastic job here with our talent

Literally not having them is addition by subtraction.

Look at Las Vegas.

Canned their shitty coach, benched their QB. And not only have they not got worse, they’ve won both games.

Getting rid of shitty coaches and players might not help now, it’s getting rid of the stink so you can start fresh

Serious answer..

Were stuck with Carr till 2026.

What I'd do is part ways with Carmichael and probably Ronald Curry as well after the season and bring in some new young up and coming offense minds( I don't pretend to know who but someone is out there that can improve this offense)

Allen is going to get a little longer leash because he's tied to Carr and will likely go when Carr goes after 2026 unless the new offense hires really turn this ship around and the defense starts playing like we know they can and should.

In the mean time start serious talks with Mickey Loomis about his commitment and vision for a rebuild to determine if he continues on as GM or moves to a roll in the Benson Org a little away from the football operations. He aint getting fired or kicked out. He's deeply rooted with the Bensons and it will be his decision to make a move.

I'd like to see Kari Harley more involved with Jeff Ireland in running the draft to maybe get away from this trading the future to suck today mentality. (For the record I have no idea how much Harley is involved in the draft now but I assume everything starts and ends with Mickey)

2024 his cap hit is 35 mil. (Dead Cap is 55mil)
2025 his cap hit is 45 mil. (Dead Cap is 17 mil)
2026 his cap hit is 55 mil, (Dead Cap is 11 mil)

Carr is your QB in 2024 and pray to god the don't restructure him (Which is a high likelihood being that the team is 70+ million over the 2024 cap right now and most veterans were restructured in 2023 to get under this years cap.) I know it's just money and it aint OUR money but at some point the shell and pea game must end. Soon we will be at a point where Loomis cannot kick the can far enough down the road to make the numbers work.

My bet is they restructure him and his dead cap gets pushed out and goes up in 2025 and 2026.

It's the Mickey clause.

It should be happening now. Any front office worth their salt would have told DA no to signing a nine-figure QB and to work with what they had to straighten out the cap. Instead, they overspend with a shite head coach and kick the can so the next regime will still have to deal with it.

Assuming we finish low enough to get one of the top 4 QBs, I'm drafting one and sitting them behind Carr for a year.

Then getting rid of Carr after his second season and starting the now one-year QB.

This is all moot if Carmichael is still calling the plays.

Hire Ben Johnson ASAP, should have already been calling. Get Kyler Murray or Justin Fields for a mid-round pick.

It’s going to have to be somebody pretty far down the pecking order for an “up and coming” guy to waste his shot on Derek Carr. Up and coming OCs are going to stay with what they’re currently working with as we’re not a destination. Does Dennis Allen seem like the kind of coach who will go with the creative young positional coach for his OC?

That’s an amazing way to guarantee complete apathy
