I'll be sick over yesterday for a long time. Most heartbreaking loss in a long line of them I've experienced as a fan. Searching for a silver lining. Can anyone help me out. I know we're young but Brees isn't it. Hope he has a few years left.

This young badass defense with all new coaches really came together down the stretch and played great this season. They've been alot of fun to watch and they're a solid group who should only get better.

If a loss in the divisional round of the playoffs is their first season floor, we might be witnessing the beginning of something really special.

We get and stay healthy next year and pick up and athletic linebacker or DE to compliment Jordan and we'll have one hell of a defense going forward.

On offense we were plagued by oline issues. Decimated by them. But we have 2 incredible running backs, a future hall of fame all time elite QB, and a really solid rookie WR. We get the oline problems solved and the rest works itself out. Ram was a great addition. I'm praying Peat makes it back, but we need to solve those problems first and foremost this offseason.

I would love to see another Jordan caliber player join the squad. That would be special. A lot of the other pieces are already there.

Silver lining:

1. we didn't get embarrassed in the superbowl with 22 IR'd (Armstead apparently tore his hip flexor completely)

2. it was the divisional round, not NFCCG or SB

3. This team is young and has potential, the window for Brees is opening up again and its a good last shot

What solid rookie WR are you referring to?

I'm drawing a blank. All I can think of is Thomas, but he's in year two, right?

The Saints are taken seriously.

Franchise with a Super Bowl ... winners of the NFL's current toughest division.

No longer a laughing stock. No more paper bags.

No more season being over around week 8.

Felt pretty good to win the division, make the fricking playoffs, and get a playoff win with a sweep over a division foe.

And ... technically ... were in the playoffs longer than the Falcons by about 283 minutes ... though, I could be wrong on that number ... just an estimate.

We did NOT go -016.
We did not need to put bags on our heads like years past.
The Saints last the game in the first half. Who thought they could come back after the first half. I am thankful they did not get blown out. They fought back very hard, had the game won, then lost it in a shocking fashion.
With this defense we should NOT need to wear bags for a while.

It honestly hinges on how Loomis and Payton deal with Free Agency and the Draft. I won't live this one down and there will never be a silver lining for me. Opportunities to play for a chance to make it the Superbowl are not easy to come by. You hate to see the chance slip away on an unfortunate colossal mistake.
