Sean Payton has said repeatedly that Drew Brees' successor is "in the building." He didn't mean Teddy then, and he doesn't mean Jameis now. Obviously if Hill falls on his face and fails as the starter in 2021 or whenever, the club will have to go to Plan B.

But Plan A is Taysom.

Don't kid yourself. That contract extension wasn't for his gadget role. It was to lock him up as the long-term starting QB and reward him for being a team guy in the process.

is this the part where you get your calculator and divide his contract by 2 years and pretend that number has any relevance in life to extending someone locked in a 1 yr RFA deal?

You have got to be the dumbest mf known to man. Your exact quoted quote agrees with me.

quote:

quote: @JeffDuncan_ So the Saints are paying Taysom Hill an annual average of $8 million guaranteed and Jameis Winston $1.1 million. Any questions about who the next starter is in NOLA?

This retard has reached next level.

yes that's how it averages P brain. It has nothing to do with why Mickey Loomis added a 16.9 yr extension to his 4.6 mill locked in RFA deal.

I'm glad I skipped about 15 pages because I didn't see any of this.

I'll have to link you the Pels Talk thread where PBean absolutely lost his mind over a meme he didn't understand.

Your circle jerking is intentional - hoping you can all agree with each other so you can feel like youre “right.”

At the end of the day we’re paying backups QB’s 9.1 mill next year and Im fine with it. You should be too.

look i'm not going to derail this thread again after this post, but historically, i doubt there is a close 2nd to the person i've argued sports with on this forum behind Lester Earl

back to the thread:

no

I'm hoping Winston is ready to take this seriously and buy in b/c he's not only younger than hill, he's much more talented as a passer

It’s kinda sad someone who doesn’t even follow the team can see this but the beat writer for the last 20 can’t even connect the dots

i think there is a combination of liking taysum as a person (by both the media and org) and a desire to keep him as a non-QB asset (either on the field or in a trade next year). a believe that he can be an elite starting NFL QB is just insane. there is no metric or stat that indicates anything other than a gadget role is suitable for him

Doesnt matter, the usual suspects (yourself/LE) always show up and post with the same tactics. Keep deflecting.

Now when are you going to admit you were wrong and the saints dedicating 9.1 mill to backup qbs next year is no biggie.

You shite your pants about Taysom contract before you even saw Jameis’.

We now have two potential Brees successors for a reasonable price.

Crybaby.

next year as in 2020 or 2021? because my focus is on 2021 (and it is likely to become a big deal)

i was joking about our investment in backup QB for 2020 but i have said many times i care about how this impacts our 2021 cap

primarily with respect to Kamara

Why dont you let Jeff Duncan know too.

Oh wait Jeff Duncan told you it was 9.1 mill, and you quoted him to us, and still can remember that you did or what it means.
