It's sad that we have to educate people on basic New Orleans geography.

There is no west, east, north, or south here, because as was rightly pointed out here, as far as the superdome is concerned, it is west of the west bank.

The proper directions in New Orleans are Up, Down, Lakebound, and Riverbound.

Funny part about the back and forth is, if you expand out the map the dome is damn near circled by the river with close proximities being East, North & West of the river.

I had to look when seeing the earlier post about not playing West of the River this year

The superdome is absolutely on the east bank of the Mississippi River.

When people talk about west of the Mississippi on a national scale, NOLA does not apply, even if the local geography of the city makes it more nuanced.

The Superdome is east of the River. Full stop.

Yikes, that is a tough game to start the season.

It is one of the three toughest games on our schedule but I like it. I’d rather get this game out of the way early, but also weird things can happen week 1. I bet it’s close.

This started as no games west of the Mississippi this year. You said the superdome makes that untrue. As “West of the Mississippi” is implied, you’re wrong and you know it.

You drive from Jacksonville, Fl (on the east coast of the U.S.) to the superdome and you never cross the Mississippi River. It’s east of the Mississippi.

The superdome is east of the MS River because of how it curves. West Bank would be Algiers/Gretna ect. The quarter is on the east bank so therefore the superdome is on the east bank of the MS river.

so you have no trouble in stating that the Superdome is west of the mississippi river? cause as you already said, the situation is "nuanced".
