Packers take on joint practice
On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints met for a joint practice at Ray Nitschke Field, the first of two such practices between the teams ahead of their preseason game at Lambeau Field on Friday evening
All told, however, the defenses starred for both teams, but especially for the Packers. Green Bay’s pass rush in particular was relentless throughout Tuesday’s practice,
I will try to post more but seems both defenses feasted.

The Green Bay offense did have some success at times, however, particularly in the red zone period. Aaron Rodgers threw touchdowns to Sammy Watkins and Doubs

New Orleans also had one solid sequence as well, with a few nice runs and a good catch by Michael Thomas with Jaire Alexander all over him.

Meanwhile, the Packers’ pass rush got home repeatedly, with everyone from Rashan Gary to Preston Smith to Quay Walker to J.J. Enagbare to Tipa Galeai getting in on the sack-fest.
I will try to post more but seems both defenses feasted.

Shoot and here I am thinking the O Line would be improved. Sure hope it was just a bad day for those guys.

the o-line arguably got worse this off season. why would you think that?

Green bay has a good front seven as well. DA said the 1st team O looked very good and ran everything with speed and few mistakes.
So far I think the 1st teams for the defense and the offense are looking strong.

Olines across the NFL typically suck first few weeks of the season

We lose Armstead and you think this?

Apparently both defenses were dominant. Not unusual for preseason for most teams. Drew and the offense often came out looking rusty the first game or two.

I guess people were hopeful Ruiz would improve and Peat would actually play the way we pay him to play.
Their mistake. They both suck. And that’s without even getting into the left tackle position.

The Saints should just cut bait with Peat and Ruiz. There's got to be better guards out there.

Reading the packers report on the atheltic, nearly every sack came on Ian Book. Seems to be a trend of him holding the ball.
That said the Packers have a strong front and good defense overall. Kenny clark, Preston smith, Rashan Gary, jarran Reed can call push the pocket. Fast LBs. Iron sharpens iron

Looking at the cap numbers, I think this is the make or break year for Peat with the Saints. You cut him now, the cap hit for 2022 is the same ~$7.7M, but his 23 cap hit is around $17M. If you wait until next year, you can spread that hit over 23 & 24.
Also, the reason I think this is his "contract year" is his 23 base salary is suppose to be just under $12M with a cap hit over $18M. So cutting him finally saves money
Pre 6/1/23 is a $17M cap hit in 2023
Post 6/1/23 is a $6.5M cap hit in 2023 & an $11.8M cap hit in 2024.
