Since he had a hall of fame QB he had no reason to draft and develop one. Winston was playing great considering he had no actual NFL receivers.

This is a throw away season at this point. Payton is the least of our problems. But we'll need to find a solution at QB

He’s not. But what is even the criticism here. No starting QB was developed over the last 15 years when we had an elite of the elite QB on the roster and drafted relatively late most years?

Well he had a hof'er until last season and brought in a heisman winning and former no#1 draft pick the season. Before and was playing winning football until his injury.

Yeah I disagree with the thread premise so my comment is in the wrong thread. Plenty to criticize Payton on but not because he didn’t have another pro bowl HOF qb waiting in the wings
I just get annoyed that people don’t see the amount of bone head things Payton does.
