Am I wrong in thinking that the thought here is that Anzalone is always injured, so we need another LB who is capable of starting for us?

Do y'all think that Kwon taking Anzalone's spot? Or backs him up?

A healthy Kwon is better than a healthy Alex.

Maybe playing less as a backup will help Alex play angrier and be more aggressive and stop playing it safe.

If it was about injuries, we wouldn't have traded for Kwon.

This is an upgrade first and foremost (dude is pro bowl level and Anzalone is still struggling at times).

Secondarily it allows us to run more 3 LB sets since we are actually at a lower percent than normal (at last check we only ran 3 LBs on 9% of the snaps), which seems to point to Baun just not being up to speed, or potentially just not being that good.

A potential All Pro caliber 23 year old LB? yeah he wasn’t gonna come cheap

Duh, that’s the point, it’s a nearly impossible trade. The real focus of my post is that Warner is the 49ers best athlete at LB with or without Kwon on the roster. Smh

I never got this boards infatuation with anzalone.

He just doesn't have a natural football feel.
His zone drips suck and he's always out of position

I just don't think he has a great feel for the game.
I think kwon will be a nice upgrade

He's fast, can hit hard, and is good in man. But yeah his zone play is iffy as frick. Many of those middle shots and dump offs are on him.
