Super Bowl here we come

The #Saints are planning to sign veteran CB Prince Amukamara, pending his physical, per @DanGrazianoESPN. The former #Giants first-round pick spent last season on the #Cardinals’ practice squad but didn’t appear in a game.

Not the worst move in the world but it is crazy they waited this long.

They also signed kavarie russell at corner.

Amukamara (even at his age) is a welcomed addition at outside CB.

He's always been solid.

I want to get excited… but the fact that he spent all of last season on a practice squad is concerning

Agreed. Hopefully we can get something out of him this year.

I mean, it can’t really hurt. I think we will be platooning the CB spot this year. Kinda like a mid-week LSU baseball game. Whoever has the hot hand in practice gets the start on the outside.

I don'know.

I think they could make a trade.

If they fall off big time this year maybe they will be in a spot to draft Stingley Jr.

Hasn't he been in the league to long to be on the practice squad or was that waived for Covid just for last year. Not sure what the practice squad rules are anymore.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm hoping it's less Jason David, and more Corey White level of bad.

If the pass rush is still legit, this defense will be fine. Amukamara is great in zone coverage which is what Kris Richard loves to run. A lot of press zone, physical play from the corners using the boundaries to our advantage. I think this defense schematically will be similar to what Seattle had their championship year. A fast, violent defense that comes up and make plays and has a high tackling rate. If this defense limits the big play and our offense can control the ball, I’ll be happy.
