This board is so depressing and/or dumb right now. I’d forgotten, over the last 15 years, how bad offseason opinions can get

how can you say with a straight face he sucked when he ran the plays Payton called?

Less than or equal to 61% completion in 4/6 games. Under 150 yards passing first 3 games. Pretty clear looking at his career and historical games across the league that his ridiculously efficient week 1 and week 5 were an anomaly and extremely rare.

Even if they weren't they perfectly highlighted the duality of Jameis. Trash sandwiched in between a great game. Zero consistency. Doesn't build on success.

Dude are not arguing historical numbers, what I am saying is. He did not play starting quarterback in 20, let's assume Payton did spend time working with him with cutting down on mistakes, maybe just maybe he learned something from Payton that Mr. No risk it no biscuit couldn't do. Let's look at who we had out there "ATTEMPTING " to catch the ball.

I did not say he was going to be all pro, hof or anything else. If he is serviceable and our prima Donna reciever decides to play this year, based on what he did in 7 games we could do the math and win 11 or 12 games.
We don't have to sign him to some dumbass contract like Payton gave Taysom.

After seeing progress in less turnovers, a good win loss record, why are you so opposed to give him a chance on a 1 year deal with hopefully an NFL caliber receiving threat?

There's not a whole lot of options out there, why mortgage the future by trading for a quarterback that is getting close to retirement to be left in the same position in a couple years that we are now? A retired quarterback that we still owe a boatload of money too , and then add the missing picks and whatever else we have to trade.

So who are your options for this year?
Keep in mind, they'd be coming to a new team, system, coaches and teammates. They may not do any better this year than jameis would. And next year we will probably be missing high draft picks
