Old school, 2 down guy. Super productive but a liability in coverage.

Everything I've read says that he's good in coverage.

They say he would make a good 4-3 Will LB.

He can’t cover for shite. He’s an old school 2 down guy. The good news is hopefully this means Zach Baun will be used according to his strengths and not in the middle.

Are you looking at the right player? Everything I've read says the exact opposite.

They're saying that he gets engulfed against the run sometimes.

It's not just 1 person's evaluation either.

I’ve watched him play several times live and on TV. He is a pursuit LBer who better fits the old 2 down mold. He is an NFL player and will do very well on STs and on early downs.

He has speed but he can’t cover.

It went way over your head, and that’s okay.

Honestly, I like this pick 10 times more than our 2nd round pick and we made it 3 rounds later lol.

Alontae can play, bro. He will make an impact this year. Imagine having a Ceedy lite on the field.

This isn’t a bad 5th round pick. He just can’t cover. I hope I’m wrong. I hope every player we draft turns into an all pro.

That's the knock on him.

He can cover running backs.

Was great against screens.
Great pursuit player.

Right. He is a 2 down guy. He will do okay with keeping a back in the flat or a TE on a short route, but he cannot cover.

He isn’t a bad pick. It’s the 5th FFS. He’s been very productive and can pursue really well.

Hopefully this means they move Baun so we can see him play a more natural position.

I mean he will start out as a 3rd guy and play special teams.

Who knows what role the saints will have for him.

He is absolutely great against the run and can also blitz.

I just watched the ull game.

His coverage is why he is still around in the draft.

He lit up Oooh La La. He is a football player, no doubt about it. Football is so situational nowadays anyway. My only fear is that the saints play so much nickel now. That’s precisely why Baun was placed in a position to fail. I hope that doesn’t happen here as well.

No team really plays 3 linebackers in a 4 man front.

They must like him as a mike or will. Baun is not a mike or will.

Ellis even beat out baun at strong.

Baun needs to come off the edge. He was ridiculously productive doing just that at whisky.

and plenty of teams play a 43, bro.

Yes I like the Jackson pick. Definitely going to be a solid special teamer.

He could develop into a good player

Former Safety, he can really run and cover.

Great! maybe he can solve our problem with opposing tight ends.
