Strengths
Team captain and hard-nosed player.
Slips past blocks with subtle movements.
Gets skinny through gaps and into the backfield.
Sideline-to-sideline acceleration and range.
Much-improved coming to balance as a tackler in 2021.
Possesses man and zone cover talent.
Speed to carry targets downfield and challenge the catch.
Shines on special teams.
Weaknesses
Feels small when playing downhill.
Easily bumped off course or washed away by blockers.
Freestyles and voids run-fit responsibilities.
Doesn't bypass and control blocks with hand usage.
Below-average recognition of blocking schemes.
Length limitations show up on broken tackles.
More assists than solo tackles during career.

120 tackles, 19.5 TFLs, Sun Belt DPOY. Bet he’s got a good RAS score too.

Good pick

Man, if we were just able to get Brisker at 49, this would’ve been a damn near perfect draft

Not exciting, but not a reach either. Good 5th round defensive pick - definitive special teamer now, plenty of physical potential to develop into a starting LB.

Daniel Jeremiah approves

Finally! Promise I'm not being a homer, D'Marco Jackson should have gone a long time ago. Former Safety, he can really run and cover.

at this part of the draft you just want someone who can stick to the roster

Per ESPN's draft bio: New Saints LB D'Marco Jackson is the only FBS player in the 2000s with a season that included at least 120 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, six sacks and six passes defended (2021)e.

19.5 tackles for loss is really good.

Sun belt player of the year.

Those stats are crazy.

This is a great pick.

Gotta be honest I don't know if I love the alontae taylor pick. I would've rathered brisket.

My guess is the saints thought they were getting brisker and had to pivot to taylor.
