Hartman on Wake Forest is draft eligible this year and will probably be available in the 2nd or 3rd rd

Meets the qualifications for a current starting sAints QB - trade up into the late 1st round this season and give up our 2024 and 2025 1st rounders.

Joking aside, IF there's a guy we like and we can trade our 2nd and next year's first, fine.

However, I'm perfectly fine with tanking and getting rid of dead cap space si we can draft our guy in '24

I love Maye but I’d grab Sam Hartman if he’s there in the 2nd which it’s looking like he will go. He’s going to be a special find for whoever takes him and if he hadn’t had that heart issue he would still be talked about in the 1st round. We can’t wait that long to at least try to find a QB and Hartman could be a year 1 starter.

I agree that Drake Maye will likely be special, but you are also correct that we shouldn’t wait that long. If Maye stays on this trajectory…..he may be the #1 pick in his class so we would likely frick that up by winning too many games.

Hartman can make every throw, is a good leader, and is obviously very resilient. If you can grab him in the early 2nd, you absolutely do it. His football IQ is supposedly off the charts….so I (like you) think he could probably start as a rookie.

Hartman is mature enough to handle it. This team is further away than we originally believed before the season…..so let him come in as a rookie and develop.

TCU Max Duggan is a flat out winner. This guy has "IT". Offensive smarts, accurate passer, determination, and leadership. He physically looks like Taysom but plays runs an offense like Brees.
