How can they not be the luckiest team so far in the NFL?
Have you been watching the games this season? They're fortunate to be in the situation they're in... But by far have been extremely unlucky. This team should be 8-1

Well they're extremely lucky to still even be in the playoff hunt much less 1st in the NFC South.

The Saints have been VERY unlucky on the field this year. They're talented, have a good, stable coaching staff, and have a proven, solid offensive plan run by some elite players. Yet, if the game is close this year, they have lost every time. Everyone is making the play against them when it counts.

You asked this question:
People gave you an answer
Yes we are. We are also extremely unlucky to be sitting at 4-5 right now.

I would say yes. Is any other team sub 500 and in the drivers seat for the division? The Saints are playing like a non playoff team but in all likelihood will get in to the playoffs.
I'd say they are lucky.
I'd say they are lucky.

How so?

quote: A measure of the deviation between a team’s actual winning percentage and what one would expect from its game-by-game efficiencies. It’s a Dean Oliver invention. Essentially, a team involved in a lot of close games should not win (or lose) all of them. Those that do will be viewed as lucky (or unlucky).

This is such a fan statement here.

What part of that is false?
Coaching - Most polls have Sean Payton as a top 5 coach, even as high as #2.
Elite Offensive Players - 2 players in the NFL rated top 10.

You need me to explain this one to you to?

This feels like fantasy football teams I've had. Scored 100 points each week just to be beat by the guy that manages 105. Good enough for second every week but still losing. Easily the most points but near the bottom in actual wins. Lucky or unluncky?

And they needed OT to beat a very bad Tampa at home.
