NFL Networks Jason LaCanfora hears the Saints are in the mix for free agent DE Cullen Jenkins, along with the Cowboys.

Jenkins would seem to be a luxury in NOLA, where Shaun Rogers and Shaun Ellis form a fine duo inside. The Redskins figure to bow out on Jenkins after locking up Stephen Bowen, though the Broncos are expected to make a run.

They are so in tuned with one another that they decided to share the same name. Kinda like the Williams wall but just first names. Keep up EB shite.

So that just leaves Dallas and possibly Denver?

I think it's time to play the "do you want to play for a championship in this century Cullen?? Then sign with us" card.

He would fit in well with what the saints want to do and thats be a better D. He is one of the better D-linemen in free agency.

Another thing: if we were to sign him, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw decent chunk of 3-4 and 3-3-5 in the first 4 games. If we added him, we would actually have two legit 3-4 DEs , a legit 3-4 NT, one prototypical 3-4 OLB (I would fricking love to see Juneyah be a stand up rusher). Vilma has experience inside with the 3-4 (I know he doesn't like it, but it wouldn't be our base defense), and Tez has the tools to be a 3-4 OLB. Only problem is we won't have much time to install it for the younger players that weren't here in that SB run.

This would be a good pickup. I'd take either Jenkins or Mebane.

Cullen Jenkins is a beast. More a pass rusher while Mebane is more a pocket collapser/run stopper, but I would take either.

Cullens was the second leading sacker for Green Bay last year behind Clay Matthews (7-tied for second with B.J. Raji). Only played in 11 games.
