He was good at what he did, but as we all expected the fad with the weird arse Australian pouch type punting has run its course.
They tried to have him switch to a more traditional type of punting early on in OTAs and practice but it obviously wasn't working out.

That made me look up Morstead's punting history. With the Saints he averaged 57.7 punts a year with the highest number being 74 in 2012; he was 2nd team All-Pro that year. In 16 years, he only punted more than 75 times in 1 season, 2023 with NYJ.
Since he left in 2020, we had Gillikin with 83 in 2021 & 77 in 2022, Hedley with 75 in 2023, and Hayball with 75 in 2024. In other words, we got rid of our best punter in team history when we actually started punting more.

I saw him the other day too. Not sure what he’s up to but he was pretty visible around Nola when he played here, seems like a good dude.
