How bad is it getting in and out of the garage parking, like garage 5. Looking at buying a garage parking spot as I’ve seen pelicans games all the cars are getting robbed.

You answered your own question

It’s horrible to get out the garage. Also the car breaks ins aren’t as bad as publicized. Just park on a main road or Main Street lot. Don’t park under the bridge or by Home Depot.

I work downtown, park downtown for games, leave my car overnight ... it is the same as always. Put your car in a garage and you will be fine.
As far as gameday parking, is anyone still going to the games?

Not sure where you're coming to and from but I am in Metairie and always park in the LSU Health Parking lot on Poydras so that I can hop on I-10 West.
It's fenced in and they have security that patrols. $20 is very reasonable and its a quick 5 min walk to the dome. Best thing IMO about it though is the quick exit. As soon as you are out the lot on Poydras, you are on the interstate. I am from my dome seat and in my living room in 25-30 mins. I've parked in the dome lots and have waited just to exit the dome the same amount of time. If you don't have mobility issues and can walk the 5 mins, its worth not parking under the dome.

I parked in champions garage without any issues, traffic sucks wherever you go but I didn’t find it to be excessive. I’d rather sit in my car for 15-20 minutes than walk 6 miles to a safe spot

It’s worse getting in than out. Just go a little early

I’m coming from Baton Rouge so this wound be perfect. Can you pinpoint this location?
Do you walk underneath the interstate for this?

This is the lot. LINK
The address is on Bertrand, but there is an entrance/exit on Poydras. You do walk under the interstate to get to the dome. I've never felt unsafe or uncomfortable doing that walk. It's always got tons of people walking in the area and lots of police in the area directing traffic.

Awesome
That’s the one I thought it was
Last question. Do you just pay as you show up or in advance?

Yep. $20 Cash. They'll have several workers at the Poydras Gate.
Get there about 1030-1100 or earlier if you want. Grab a spot close to the front of the lot and back your car in. Super easy escape. Might see ya there on Sunday!

My advice when parking in the garage is to park as close to the exit as possible. The best move is getting there early enough before the game starts to where getting in is a breeze and you can park pretty much wherever you want. I always liked pulling up at least 90 minutes prior to the game starting.

I have been parking in Garage 2 for the Saints games for 20+ years. Traffic can be bad after the game but I have never seen a problem around there with car breakins. Not in the Dome garage. I have heard about a lot of problems, but most of them have been with people who try to park for free along the streets on the I-10 and Claiborne side.

I might never park anywhere else from now on. 100 yards from the on ramp to I-10 west? Are you shitting me? It was an epic escape! It was 40 min from there to Ponchatoula exit
