Would be nice to have a 1st rounder in this draft, but Mickey traded that away for a mid first in last year's draft.

For the Chargers, they already have the young stud qb, so they wouldn’t be desperately looking to take a qb with a high first.
For Payton, he ties the rest of his career to this young star qb and a team with a talented roster. This seems way more likely than Dallas.

If we don’t end up back in the first round, I’d look to Cam Ward in the second round next year… give him one year sitting as Winston plays out the rest of his contract and Cam has a legit chance to become the next Dak. Very similar athletic profiles and arm attributes. I think Cam ends up in the same position as Dak of consistently above average NFL starter with a few occasional years of arguably being borderline elite.
