2 yrs is perfect. Will allow us to draft or sign a guy next yr and develop him if we don't think brown is capable. meanwhile we have an experienced starter, albeit average.

The best part of the 2 year deal, BY FAR, is that it tells me he didn't get as much as he wanted from other teams. I was expecting about $5m/yr on average over 4 or 5 years with another team (with an easy out in year 2 if he sucked), so this tells me he's getting between $3-4m. Not bad, though that makes Charles Brown a huge disappointment, IMO, though he has time to turn it around. Bushrod may yet be cut next season if Brown shows he can do it.

Not entirely true. He had offseason surgery and missed that entire offseason with coaches. Time will only tell, but I wouldn't say huge. I'd say a bit.
