How many firsts we have to give up for his option?

HEALTH

When he has been healthy, he's been pretty good.

This is the problem.

Is the #27 pick and the #30 pick worth a single player who is "pretty good" when he is healthy?

He's not this useless player, but the return isn't there.

We had to do it since he's so close to being a dominate force. Will he actualize it? I don't know. But we have to stick it out and see if he does

Is he?
He is always on the ground. I don't think he really loves football

He’s not consistent enough to be anywhere near dominate territory

Marcus finna eat. 12.5 sacks minimum in 2021. Mark it!

Davenport was often compared to Ziggy Ansah as the same out-of-nowhere edge rusher with measurables rising up boards.

It took Ziggy a few years before he became dominant.

Marcus is about to explode.

Saints still have Ryan Nielsen. I'm a hopeful believer.

He played 13,11, and 11 games the last 3 years.

Had 1.5 sacks last year in 357snaps

Is always getting knocked off balance or on the ground.

He will make north of 9 mil.
They almost had to pick up the option, but it seems like a little sunken cost

For what Davenport cost us, by year 4 he needs to be an every down dominant player.
Hopefully he steps up and earns it this year.

No.

They just had to pick it up after spending 2 firsts on him.

He has talent. If he would get into the grind of football and really get better he would be unstoppable.
