With the possibility of Kamara being suspended and with only a 32 year old back up, how did we not draft a RB or acquire one via free agency? There is a bunch of RB's picked 4th round or lower this year that are now starters. It was a loaded and deep RB draft for 2022. Looking back the Saints have only drafted one RB since Kamara in 2017 (Boston Scott in the 6th round 2018). Allen sucks, I get that, but how in the world would a GM see our RB room and not think with a 17 game schedule that it was in need. We sat and did nothing in the draft and then nothing in free agency and then later botched the Murray deal.

Should be a priority in the '23 draft.

this was the most inexcusable of all frickups

and they did it while ingram was hurt and couldnt play and the reason they did it was to add a PS QB who was cut from the team the very next week.

there were at least 10 other guys who never see the field they could have move to PS to go get that no name 4th string QB they felt they needed.

kamara has no heart and is just going through the motions so his replacement needs to be drafted as well.

the way i see it they need to get 2 immediate starters at RB this draft and then figure out if kamara wants to play or not, if not trade him, regardless of the cost, just like with MT if they arent producing, the cost to get rid of them is pointless since it costs even more to keep them and they cost you to not win games

Same way we can't seem to realize the QB position actually matters.

We were in prime position to draft two running backs that were slotted to go in the 3rd to 4th round area in Brian Robinson and dameon pierce. Both are currently starting and are productive. We could have had either with our 3rd round comp picks.

But when you trade away all your picks b/c you think you have a Super Bowl roster you get what we have now….

I'm as big of a fan as is. But our rb group and depth stinks. Our RB power back is Hill. Who we don't use. Who is our AK backup if he gets hurt?
No one.
You must develop players who are similar as you can get to your starters so you don't have to abandon what you do due to injuries.
We end up with guys on our bench who are there to perform well on ST's with little expectations of being starters.

Great if your starters never get injured.

Because they realized, like most of us on here, there wouldn’t be any sort of suspension or repercussions until next season. The issue isn’t running back depth, the issue is the saints somehow forgetting how to use kamara

Our RB sucks. But they didn't actually botch the Murray deal, Murray chose to go to Denver

They have the chance to the promote him to the active roster. They didn’t, put him back on the practice squad where he had the choice to go to another team. FO screwed up.
