Yep. Our defense usually does a good job on 1st & 2nd down in general. Stopping them on 3rd down is the difference between good defense & average defense.

Yep... Rattle Ryan, and it's game over...

3 picks last game. 1 that gave NO 7 points and another in his own end zone. At minimum a 10 point swing. And NO still lost.

The refs constantly screwed us over, about 7 starters got injured (Peat was inactive also), & the game was in Atlanta...yet we still almost won.

The refs had nothing to do with NO going 3/10 on 3rd down and only scoring 7 points in the 2nd half on a 29 yard drive after a pick

Julio is going to get his, Lat needs to keep him under 100 playing man - please, no zone this week - stop the run & pressure Ryan - we need first downs with extended drives that put any points on the board - time of possession could be the big difference this week - Ha! Sounds like any other week in the NFL - predicting a lot of very late Christmas dinners if we win this one - if going to the game, MAKE SOME NOISE !!!

The injury part sure as hell did. We ran out of guards, Kamara got knocked out, Ingram was banged up, etc.

Going into this one with a healthy offensive line

Reading hard

take away Freeman and Coleman in the run game.

Matt Ryan hasn't really been good this year and played shitty enough against us to lose the other night. Under most circumstances when you throw 3 ints its lights out.

except the refs.

and losing Kamara.

and a handful of Saints players getting hurt during the game.

I seriously think the Falcons almost used up what luck they have left in this season during that game.

They could have lost to Tampa but Freeman was able to have a good game cause the Bucs D suffered a bunch of injuries. Gerald McCoy didn't even play and neither did Lavonte David.

So i'd guess they would attack with Freeman as the feature guy seeing how we've lost Klein and Vaccaro. Say what you will about KV but he was usually good in the box.. coverage wise he was a pile of trash.

Lattimore can cover Julio one-on-one, and Matt Ryan has simply not been nearly as accurate this year as he's been in years past, especially when under pressure. We need to focus on stopping the run and blitzing Ryan to keep their running tandem from getting on schedule and keep Ryan from getting comfortable.

In the mean time, the offense needs to pound the rock while mixing in screens and short passes to keep the clock moving and play keep away from that Falcons Offense. They need to keep the ball away from Deon Jones. He has been killing the Saints with pass breakups and interceptions.
