What are you facepalming for? It’s definitely difficult to beat a team 3 times in a row in the same season.

Sure it's difficult, but it's twice as difficult to get the win after losing the first two times according to empirical data. So why is the onus on the Saints when historical data is actually against the Bucs?

I'm not saying that the Bucs can't win, but that narrative is a complete myth when you look at the results of the other matchups that have come in these situations. It's a lazy narrative that holds no weight and I'm tired of it being parroted. If the Bucs win, it won't be because "they were due".

There are a lot of stats in the saints favor when you take into the account the margin of victory in the first 2 games too. The sample size is smaller but it’s 83% the saints will win game 3.

This has been discussed all week. History shows that the team that swept in regular season will win the third game in post season 67% of the time.

As tall as the challenge may be, consider the flip side of the potential last run for Brees. How nice of a way to close out a legacy with wins over Brady and Bucs, going into Lambo and the opportunity to take out a Rodgers led Packers and getting into the Superbowl with a chance to go out defeating perhaps a huge Mahomes led Chiefs team. I realize it may be a stretch...but what a way to leave the game.

He does all that and he leaps a lot of QB’s on the all time list.

Still would be behind Manning, Brady, Montana, and Rodgers but right there with Favre and Elway.

Saints already had the odds working against them with having to try and beat a team for the third time in a season, but without Hill and Murray it's going to be more difficult. Hill is extremely important in his team's short yardage and red zone offense and Murray is a great compliment to Kamara. We share see.
Not sure why this is still a thing people say because 70% of the time the team that won the first two times wins the third. Sooo... seems like the Saints have the odds in their favor?
