Yeah ones a flex player who can do a lot and occasionally drop passes.
The other two are receivers who are not good at catching passes.

What's up with Meredith tho? Is he not out there or just not all full speed? He's not in the doghouse roght?

I think he’s just struggling to be out there. He had a major knee injury and he just doesn’t look the same. We really need Ginn back or Dez to come in and be a factor.
As special as Thomas and Kamara are, there are going to be teams who take them away from us eventually and force us to beat them with someone else. Smith is solid but I think he struggles against man coverage and Drew doesn’t look for him that often. I know Dez isn’t the best route runner but he’s physical as shite and wins a lot of 50/50 balls.

I think it's a combination of things.
Part not being fully healthy still, part not fully grasping the playbook yet, and part Smith improving each week.
From week 3 on Carr has been around the teens in snap count. Meredith (inactive weeks 1 and 2) had a larger role his first 3 games (30-40ish% snaps played), but a much smaller one the last 3 (also around the teens like Carr).
I think it aslo has to do with Arnold getting more snaps (since being active he aslo gets snaps around the teens count) and running more two TE sets as opposed to 3 receiver sets (Josh Hill has played 60% of the snaps, and Watson 57%, making our "base" set Thomas, Kamara, Hill, Watson, and Smith).
And then there is the Taysom Hill factor where he seems to get a little more each week (although against the Rams his snap count was only 11).
So unless Meredith starts catching on to the playbook more, there are too many other mouths we are feeding to try to force anything to him. If he isn't making plays in the snaps he is getting then why not have a second TE or Taysom out there.
Sidenote:
Our "starting" 11 on offense have played 50% or more (Smith right at 50%). Everyone else has played 33% or less (some due to injury like LeRibeus filling in or Ginn going on IR, and Ingram because of his suspension).
So it's a pretty stark drop off between the "starters" on offense and the guys who are subbing in for certain packages. Meredith is just a sub in right now.
Ingram since his return is definitely the 12th guy off the bench. No one else is really close after that. Everyone else gets between 10-20 snaps at best.

Long arse video (22 minutes) but I watched it all and honestly I'll be pretty pissed if we don't get Dez now.
I thought it was a combo of Dak not being that good and Dez having lingering injuries/getting older, but after watching that (and I knew he wasn't that good before), but Dak is a fricking awful QB.
He doesn't trust his eyes, takes forever making one read, holds the ball far too long putting his Oline in terrible spots, and has terrible accuracy on a ton of his throws.
And then the media tries to spin it like it's Bryant's fault to try to protect this false "franchise" QB.
Bryant was killing dudes in that video and Dak rarely found him, or he found him way too late and/or put the ball in fricking awful spots (that Dez STILL managed to get most of the time).
And yeah Dez runs a LOT more than 3 routes. They may not always be the prettiest, but he knows how to setup DBs on his cuts (some absolutely filthy stuff on there).
Yeah before that video I was thinking Dez could be a nice piece to add. Watching that, unless he is asking for a ransom, we really need to get him. Imagining Brees in that video throwing the ball instead of Dak, man that would have been so many money plays.

Just think about this... that was just last season when Dallas played Arizona and Dez was getting wide arse open on Patrick Peterson. This guy does not look washed up at all. Now I get why he was pissed off on the sideline.
What Dallas did was a bitch move the way they trashed him in front of the media especially dragging out that guy in charge of scouting to say that Dez didn't have it anymore. Totally unprofessional way to part ways with a player. Almost like they made it personal rather than just a business decision.

Saints are going for it and will end up signing Dez Bryant for the rest of the year that has some sort of second year team option or a very incentive laden contract for just the one...
But regardless it is a great move....
Ive seen a few posts knocking Dez and saying hes gotten old and whatever....and to those who believe he has totally lost it, you will be quite surprised when he goes out and makes plays that are premier level among all wideouts let alone just the other saints. Dez is from day one the second receiver on this team and will only take pressure off of thomas in the long run. love this...

That Dez video tells me one thing... Dak Prescott has no idea wtf he’s doing

I'm sure the fact we play Dallas in a few weeks hasn't been lost on Dez. That might help to work in our favor money wise

seems like the offense is doing just fine. why would we want Dez when even the cowpokes got tired of him?

Because the wide receiver with the next most catches on our roster has 12?
