I'll take the 4/100 and be happy. Interesting to see the guaranteed money and how heavily back-loaded it is.

How do you not pay attention to everyone saying this is exactly how it'd go down?

how do you continue to make excuses for organizational incompetence?

Did the Packers do this? The Patriots? Seahawks? Colts? Broncos?

How is it that you think that a bunch of sunshine pumpers parroting each other makes this ineptitude acceptable?

I would say "no" with ownership's blessing a plan to rebuild. It's time to move on.

What did the Colts do that was so special? They started Curtis Painter and took the obvious number 1 pick. Dont preach about competence and give me an Irsay ran team. They haven't been able to protect Luck the whole time they had him.

The Broncos brought in a HOF as a desperate way to be able to move on from Tebow. Then they paid a bunch of veterans and pretty much went all in. We would be crushed if we spend that amount of money on FA's. Half the people here dont even want to pay the best QB we've ever had

I wont argue about Seattle and New England because they are the best at what they do. But Indy and Denver are hardly an example of great front offices.

You're point was Brees sucks because he looked bad in the preseason so we shouldn't resign him.
So yes that's pretty laughable. Brees isn't the problem. The problem is bad drafts and shitty over paying of FAs.

DB is using the standard negotiating tactic, start high and work toward a middle ground.

I would like to see a three contract at about $20/mill a year with a some bonuses thrown in.

Pay the man what he deserves. We've robbed him of at least two rings by now

I'd pay Brees at most 3 years at $23 million/year for 3 years. That is 3 years for $69 million with $48 million guaranteed.

It basically is a two year deal that way and he gets a god bit up front. Tnis way if Brees falls of dramatically in the next two years you can afford to eat the contract and move on by either cutting or trading him.

How is this not what makes a great FO? It was a great move by Elway and Co.

Also, Seahawks just got lucky on Wilson. Their plan was to turn the team over to Matt Flynn.

They basically had to get Payton. The Tebow hype at the time was so unbelievable anyone other than Manning would and they would have rioted

Spending a huge amount of money does not involve any type of skill. These guys were not home grown or a product of great scouting and drafting. They basically took the best guys on the market and got lucky. Just my opinion.

No argument here but he's not worth 4 Years 100 mil he's not that lomg term at this point of his career..
Just as you pointed out front office overpays this would be the same case we can't let Drew dictate the future of this Franchise although he gave us great years and i thank him for that, he's not God as some fans can't move on from that....we need to keep winning and if you trade Drew that could help us on our way. that is all i'm trying to say.but as I have seen so many times we as a fan base can't move on and try something new because we think there is nothing better but if the team don't try we will never know...

In terms of this franchise, he's Jesus, God, Moses, and Abraham.

But we've done such a great job in free agency and drafting lately, that I can see why you think we'd knock his replacement out the park /s

It's an unnecessary risk. What in this franchise's history gives you confidence in the post-Brees era?

What teams can even take on his 2016 cap hit at this point? He isn't tradable right now even if we wanted him to be.

Alright TigerBait1127 that's all I want is a conversation Bro...Yes but we could get Drew Traded and who ever can work on a new deal with him but that can be made...Drew Bree's is all about Drew Bree's and I have seen straight through him and so has many others I talk to. Maybe som think we should pay him and hang on but now he has value we get a serviceable QB till we find a Good QB. I was a RG4 Fan but SP didn't like competition, and he looked good for Tampa in pre season. Front office sucks I agree with you for sure. But come on its time to go all the way over haul...
