And the Brees deal ain't getting done this quick. It will be last minute or not at all so a trade now is extremely unlikely.

Maybe, but maybe we just made this cut knowing Brees's agent would agree to the 4/100 numbers and they are getting their ducks in a row to make a trade.

The Brees thing has jack to do with making room. It was ALWAYS going to happen now and be done by Saturday/very early Sunday if at all.
Brees said he wants to be signed before week one or table it until after the season. If we table it it will cost us a lot more. We need to get it done now.

roger godell does not care about player safety. roger godell should have told the saints you have to draft an offensive lineman instead of stripping the pick altogether when he punished the saints. because he took the draft pick that could have been used to protect brees roger godell does not care about drew brees safety.

Sitton was a special case (a pro bowler who was surprisingly cut).
If they really wanted Leary they would have traded for him a while ago to get him into the system.
Trading for him now puts him way behind and he likely doesn't start for a few weeks.

Based on the preseason games having Leary on the roster even at the last minute is better than what we have now.
Also, does it take a lineman 2 weeks to know his assignment for a new team? Not like you are throwing a new playbook at a WR or QB.
