Actually, many Saints fans knew this. I did This is like coming on here and telling us SP preferred Green Bay as his first choice. We already know all this.
Once again for you slow learners. The point is no one knew that a contract was offered and then accepted. Ppl thought he wanted to go there and drs said no and that was the end. It wasn't known that he accepted a contract

JazzY:
I honestly can see your "realist" point of few most of the time, even though it is cloaked in negativity. Having said that, i will say that i beleive you saying that it bothers you when Drew says he felt called to this organization, and this city, is blatant trolling.
It is bullshite for you to claim you are a fan of this team, yet feel any sort of negativity in response to our QB, the most quality HUMAN, much less QB in the league. He is the most genuine athlete i have ever seen in the public spectrum.
You are an a-hole.

Can you guys stop fighting for a minute and answer these questions (need dates):
1. When did Brees have his surgery?
2. When did Brees have his physical with the Dolphins?
3. When did Brees work out with the Saints and pass their physical?
Answers to the above questions will determine whether it was just a matter of timing of Brees' physical with the Dolphins when he might not have had the full range of motion and strength back in his repaired shoulder when he tried out with them.
Since I am going through a labrum tear rehab myself (which I talked about here), I can see dramatic improvement from week to week. Maybe if Brees had waited a couple of weeks or more before doing his physical with Saban's doctors he might be at Miami now
Also TigerinAugustine needs to weigh-in. Isn't he some kind of orthopedician or doctor or something?
ETA: blueslover - can you help with the above dates? You seem to know everything about everything to do with the Saints. You are my favorite poster here. If anyone knows these dates, it is probably you.

January 5, 2006.

Sometime in March of 06

He worked out with the Saints in March as well (After visiting MIA but before they declined to offer him)
I dont thing the Saints completely passed his physical at that time either. I think the deal was the MIA docs thought Culpepper had a better chance of being 100% by training camp than Drew did because of the stages of recovery they both were at that time.
Drew says in his book how shocked even his doctor was by how quickly he came back. You should read it, because Drew talks about how he handled his recovery.

so for all you cool kids being douches, please note that this made the headlines on the front page with the quote saying this was the first time it has ever been said publicly that there was a contract offer...so please go frick yourselves
Posted on 12/19/12 at 10:16 pm to X Carter Is Fast
That was confirmed in Drew's book. Old news

Saban went the pratical way. He doesn't take chances on players. He saw the big strong armed QB and in his subtle way took him
