Safety has to be pretty high up the list of needs

So we don’t even have a single decent safety on the entire roster. ??

I thought he was a bright sport when healthy last season. Sad to see him go

We can get a good safety in the 2nd/3rd rounds. Emmanwori, Watts, Mukuba & Winston are all legit starters.

Mate, in my 3rd mock draft, I had us trading down with our Bangals and drafting Maliki Sparks, the outstanding young safety from UGA.

Time for both of our 2nd round CBs to step it up

Jordan Howden has been slightly better than “decent” and even long in the tooth, Mathieu graded above “decent” last year.

Doesn’t mean safety isn’t still a need, but the hyperbole on this board is out of control.

SEASON STATS - Howden
2024

SOLO TACKLES
33
76th/170 Ss

INTERCEPTIONS
2
23rd/170 Ss

TOTAL PRESSURES
1
66th/170 Ss

RECEPTIONS ALLOWED
11
84th/170 Ss

Composite stats put him around 37th out of 170 safeties.

SEASON STATS - Mathieu
2024

SOLO TACKLES
54
48th/170 Ss

INTERCEPTIONS
3
12th/170 Ss

TOTAL PRESSURES
3
38th/170 Ss

RECEPTIONS ALLOWED
16
65th/170 Ss

Composite stats put him around 24th out of 170 safeties.

Howden lost the job to Harris. Badger getting long in the tooth. I see a FA FS coming in shortly.

It wasn't the money folks he went to a very good playoff team that can go all the way. I imagine it would have taken a big over pay to keep him.

Emmanwori

Wishful thinking, he’s going in the first.

There was a glut of veteran safeties on the market last year. They were gettung paid low. The safety market kinda went the same way as running backs went. Most teams don’t view it as a priority position anymore.

We are going to sign at least one FA Safety. We have been good in the past at finding diamonds in the rough at the position, but that was with DA.

If this is the case, why would Emmanwori not fall to the early 2nd? Who would spend a 1st on a position that's not a priority? I've seen several mock drafts where he's falling into the 2nd round.

This doesn’t show his lack of physicality.

He’s soft & NO ONE is afraid to run or throw at him.
