Criticism is fair but context is important as well.
Ruiz was the only player on the O-Line to play the entire season. He moved around playing different positions, and was playing alongside different players on a weekly basis.
Cohesion is key for any o-line and the Saints had the opposite of that.
I'm taking an optimistic approach with the O-Line and specifically Ruiz. With Armstead gone, Marrone coaching the unit, and the changes they've made with the conditioning staff there is reason to believe that a healthier and more cohesive unit could be a possibility next year.
Ruiz has the physical traits to be a good player, coming off being a Covid year rookie with no training camp, then the makeshift unit last year, hopefully this upcoming season allows for development on his part and the other pieces of the line.
The Saints have 4-1st rounders and 1-second rounder penciled in to the Oline at this point. Hopefully Marrone can allow it to become a strength that the resources indicate it should be.

Ruiz has been awful so far as a Saint. Absolutely pathetic.
I hope he turns it around and performs better.
He is the weak link and we panic picked him.
We need him to start playing like the belief we had in him when we took him #1.
Its put up or get rid of him time.
Andres Peat, please pick up the white courtesy phone........

Ruiz is only a center. We made the mistake thinking he could slide over but you can’t take MCCoy off center because he’s become too 5 at his position in the league and will get paid big time this off-season.

Yes. Center when McCoy went down at the beginning of the season. Back to Guard once he came back.

All Ruiz can do is surprise me because I've come to the sad conclusion that this dude definitely doesn't have it

Trade Ruiz. Dump the experiment now.

Maybe having Marrone will have a positive impact on him
