Rookie Jersey Numbers

The Saints site does not have any info on what number the rookies would wear, but I went through the roster and found that every number worn by our rookie class (respectively) has already been taken.
- Kelvin Banks - #78 worn by Erik McCoy
- Tyler Shough - #9 worn by Brees, #12 worn by Chris Olave
- Vernon Broughton - #45 worn by Nephi Sewell
- Danny Stutsman - #28 worn by Rejzohn Wright
- Quincy Riley - #3 worn by Jake Haener
- Devin Neal - #4 worn by Derek Carr
- Moliki Matavao - #88 worn by Jack Stoll
- Fadil Diggs - #10 worn by Brandin Cooks
I would assume that Danny Stutsman, Quincey Riley and Moliki Matavao will get their numbers after roster cuts. Others have no shot and there are no highly picked guys that will be able to buy numbers, so here is what I project their numbers will be.
- Kelvin Banks - #77, #73 or #68
- Tyler Shough - #5, #6, #15 or #18
- Vernon Broughton - #59, #65 or #92
- Danny Stutsman - #24 or #29
- Quincy Riley - #30 or #24
- Devin Neal - #24 or #5
- Moliki Matavao - #80 or #89
- Fadil Diggs - #92 or #62.

D-lineman can wear numbers from 50–79 and 90–99, so your Broughton and Diggs picks might need updates.

I wouldn't bank on this. While it's highly likely Haener gets cut, it's also possible he gets stashed on the PS and will be able to maintain his number. And if Carr is unable to play at the beginning of the year, they will probably PUP/IR him and Haener may hang around as QB #3 on the active roster.

Banks should 77 if he plays LT. Like a smaller Willie Roaf just not as good.

If Shough liked #9, he should go with #6 since it is 9 upside down. If he liked #12, he should go with #15 because 2 is 5 upside down.
