Landry domination: 20 catches, 80 yards.

He's washed. Never understood the fascination with the guy as a pro. Always been a guy who catches a lot of balls but doesn't do much with them.

So true about Digby lol. Back in the day, Joe Brown would have A, B and C teams while parks like mine would be lucky to field a total of 15 players for football or baseball

Since he has been with the Browns he averages over 12 yard a catch. 11 yard per last year. Ty Hill last year was 11.2 yards per catch. His YAC is actually pretty good while with the Browns. He is not a speedster by any stretch but is good with YAC.

They are entirely different types of players and the YPC metric doesn't tell you anything. Tyreek wins deep and short (as evidenced by doubling up Jarvis on his average target distance and having 4 times the air yards) whereas Jarvis wins short and is able to make his 2 yard catch go for 4 yards. One is a volume WR who has overall okay averages based on the amount of passes he catches and one is not.

Yeah, maybe now that Sean is out of the way we can always look for the best players available, and not intentionally exclude LSU players.

Thanks for taking a huge shite all over this thread.

Can he handle being #2 WR on the team?

Landry is closer to being number three than number one. Thomas has been insanely better than Landry

I played at Kenilworth from 12 on when we moved to Mayo.
Again great times playing ball for Nord.

These two guys on the same team are just going to make everyone’s lives much easier. Mix in Olave, Callaway, and others and this is a great receiver group. Jamies if he can play smart and not get to excited has a huge opportunity this season. If he can mix the ball around we will be so solid.

No shite they have completely different playing styles/strengths. But you functionally said that Jarvis gets no yardage on his catches. The other poster then resoundingly disproved than nonsensical position by providing stats showing Jarvis’s YPC right in line with a receiver who is a clear downfield threat. If you can’t see that stat and recognize that Jarvis is a legitimate intermediate level threat, I don’t know that anyone can help you.

And that would all be fine and well if that were the end of it… people get things wrong, no worries. But for whatever nonsensical reason I can’t imagine, you double downed and again asserted that Jarvis is only a short yardage receiver, twice now implying that he’s only good for 4 yards a catch (hyperbole acknowledged, but still, that’s a ridiculous standard to assert).

But no matter how many times you state it, it’s still just flat out wrong. Juice certainly isn’t an all-pro, but he can work the middle of the field and give you chunk yardage between the hashes. The idea that he’s only good for short yard plays at high volume is verified nonsense.

Landry looks slimmed down.

I expect a big year out of him.

Will make some inportant catches and get the tough yards.

Landry does a few things hat will really help our entire offense:

1) He’s a great leader and holds people accountable with his worth ethic

2) While he doesn’t get great separation, he may have some of the best hands in NFL history.

3) He’s tough as shite, and apparently has better both YPC and YPC than I would have thought. I think that’s due mainly to his toughness. Which brings me to

4) He’s a great blocker. And that may be the only thing Tre’quan does well. Get those 2 on 1 side in front of AK getting the ball in space, and he may break a few more long ones this year.

5) He can throw accurately (enough) left-handed. That can’t be a huge part of our offense, obviously, but if Carmichael is gonna wanna get creative, he could have Jarvis and Taysom on the field with Jameis and pull a couple of trick plays out of his arse at critical times once or twice this season.

6) He shows up. I don’t think MT13 is soft, that he phoned it in, anything like that—he’s one of the most competitive players I can remember. Which is what scares me about how much time he’s missed. He was never a burner, and that’s just a long time for competitive WR to miss for an ankle injury. There’s zero guarantee he comes back close to what he was a few years ago. But you can pretty much pencil Jarvis in every week and know what you’re gonna get. It won’t be as much as MT ever gave us, but if he misses time, Jarvis would still complement Olave, who’d probably be the #1.

7) He’s playing for like $3 million plus incentives at 30 years old on a 1-year deal. NOBODY will be more motivated to bust his arse and prove his value than Jarvis.
